What our organization offers:
The mission of The Learning Center for the Deaf is to ensure that all deaf and hard of hearing children and adults thrive by having the knowledge, opportunity and power to design the future of their choice.

The Learning Center for the Deaf is a national model and  leader in educational, therapeutic, and community services for, by, and with deaf and hard of hearing children and adults. Since 1970, we have been a true pioneer in Deaf Education, and an innovator in providing comprehensive services to deaf and hard of hearing children and adults. Over the past 50 years, TLC has grown from a small school in a rented room to a diverse multi-service agency with 17 buildings on a 14-acre campus and additional locations in Framingham and Springfield, MA.

We respect and value diverse life experiences and ensure that all stories are valued and respected. Equity and inclusion are interconnected in our work and critical to ensuring a sense of belonging for the people we serve through authentic relationship-building.

For nearly 40 years, people have been coming to The Learning Center for the Deaf to learn American Sign Language (ASL). While some may have a deaf family member, many simply love languages and want to learn ASL. Whatever your reason for enrolling, we promise a dynamic and engaging learning experience led by instructors who are Deaf and fluent ASL users. Our classes are small and encourage full participation in a fun and conversational setting. While you work to develop an ASL vocabulary and understanding of the language, you will also be learning about Deaf culture and history.
