Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary
Ipswich River offers 12 miles of trails that invite you to explore the forests, meadows, wetlands, drumlin, and esker. You can also travel down the namesake river, which meanders through the sanctuary, by canoe. Whether exploring by foot or paddle, you will marvel at the diversity of wildlife, especially bird species; the sanctuary is part of the Eastern Essex County Interior Forest Important Bird Area.

Explore forests, meadows, wetlands, drumlin, and esker and travel down the namesake river, which meanders through the sanctuary, by canoe.

At Ipswich River you can explore 12 miles of interconnecting trails that wander through forests, meadows, and wetlands.

Following the paths will take you to a vernal pool, an observation tower, along boardwalks, up a drumlin, and on top of an esker. Don't leave before paying a visit to our unique rockery, which was constructed in 1905. This grotto of narrow passages and caves is the perfect for kids (and adults) who love to climb!

The Ipswich River Nature Preschool at Endicott provides young children, ages 3-5, with early educational experiences that foster the development of the whole child and a lifelong relationship with nature.
