What our organization offers:
The Blake Planetarium is a state of the art facility that immerses its audience with video and sound. Boasted as the only 4K fulldome planetarium south of Boston, its system is equal to that of facilities you would experience in Boston. Offering breathtaking views on its dome screen, the Blake Planetarium has high resolution video playback, real time multimedia, and classic astronomy tools that take visitors on fantastic voyages every time. Seating 70 people and connecting to an unlimited number of curriculum areas, this is an outstanding, one of a kind resource for any school district and community.
The Blake Planetarium audience is composed primarily of Plymouth students. It is the intention of the school district that every Plymouth student attend a minimum of one program in the planetarium each year. Our School Programs Provider, Mr. Davies, collaborates with staff to craft standards-based programs that fit best within each course/grade level.
The Blake Planetarium also hosts out of district programs during regular school day hours. The cost is $150 per program with a maximum seating of 70. Programs are aligned to the Massachusetts Science and Technology/Engineering Curriculum Framework.
A Variety of Classes offered.
