Experience mineral treasures normally locked away in the Museum of Natural History’s vaults with the Museum’s curator.
During this special open house, visitors will get an up-close look at dazzling mineral specimens rarely seen by the public. Collected over more than 120 years, these remarkable pieces tell stories of historic mines and extraordinary geological discoveries. Marvel at vibrant beryls, sparkling geodes and luminous opals while learning what makes each specimen unique. The Museum Curator will be available to share fascinating facts, answer questions and bring these crystal treasures to life.
Have a rock you have always wondered about? Bring a specimen from your own collection and have our geologist identify it — or try to stump him!
This drop-in program is perfect for families, collectors and curious minds of all ages.
