FUNDA FEST 27: A Celebration of Black Storytelling: Public Events Schedule: January 17th - 26th, 2025

For 3 Weekends, the Rhode Island Black Storytellers presents its annual storytelling festival with events all across Rhode Island. Join RIBS and invited National and International artists for this highly anticipated Black cultural experience. From Free Family events in Newport and Westerly and Pawtucket, to a full day of Black History, this event is good for everyone! See day-by-day events and details in the description.

You will be judged on Originality, Delivery, and Audience Response.

Your tale must be appropriate for family audiences.

You have 5 minutes to complete your tall tale. Each minute or any portion thereof that you exceed your 5 minutes will cost you 5 points. You could lose just by going too long.
A FUNDA FEST favorite! Don’t miss your chance to sign up to tell your biggest whopper before a live audience and a panel of judges for cash prizes!
 

First prize $200! Second Prize: $100.  Third Prize: $50.

Join RIBS and invited guest storytellers for an interactive, family oriented storytelling program, and craft activities that relate to the storytelling.

Support local Artists and Artisans showcasing their work, as well as community organizations.
