HOSTED BY LARP ADVENTURE PROGRAM AT ARTS AT THE ARMORY IN SOMMERVILLE

In this imaginative, story-driven experience, players will build skills in creativity, teamwork, critical thinking, math, and public speaking—all while having a blast. Using Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition, our friendly, experienced staff will guide students step by step through creating their own characters and embarking on exciting adventures filled with puzzles, challenges, and epic storytelling.

Role-playing games give players experience with a variety of skills, including improvisation, critical thinking, math, and public speaking. Our staff will be using Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition rules to guide participants through the process of creating characters and then testing their might through an interactive story. Students are taught at a comfortable skill level how to make characters and even run their own games as dungeon masters. 

Important Things to Know:

• We invite players to come for the entire day, but the AM and PM sessions will feature completely different stories, with unique plots, characters, and adventures.
• Students may register for one or both sessions, but should expect to create a new character for each.
• We strongly recommend not creating characters ahead of time. On the first day, instructors and students will collaborate to decide what kind of story they want to tell together. In the past, students who arrived with pre-made characters were disappointed when those characters didn’t fit the group’s shared vision—and we want everyone to start on the same page!
