Since 1980, Steve & Kate’s Camp has put kids in charge–allowing campers to choose from a variety of activities in real-time, including sewing, stop-motion animation, coding & gaming, sports & recreation, maker crafts, water play, baking, and more. As children are empowered to make their own choices at camp, they discover new reserves of confidence, resiliency, and creativity–learning to course correct and trust themselves as they go. Families can buy any number of days, to use at any time–no weekly reservations required. Or, buy a Summer Pass, which covers the whole season. Either way, any unused Passes are automatically refunded at summer’s end. Ages: 4–12 | Lunch, snacks & all hours (8am–6pm) included.

Hone your observational superpowers and zoom in on the lives of animals while developing your drawing skills. Learn about elements of design such as contour, form, and texture as we sketch animals from diverse locations—a tropical rainforest, underwater sea floors, or even imaginary worlds. This art + science program is open to students of all skill levels and all materials will be provided.

Explore the world of animals as we travel through museum exhibits, observe live animals up close, and get to know these amazing creatures through crafts, games, and experiments.

Our program for ages 4–14 is inspired by this exceptional property and builds on The Trustees’ expertise in nature conservation, historic landscapes, regenerative agriculture, and culinary exploration. Every day, campers enjoy farm-based activities that align with our environmental education mission, infused with plenty of time to make new friends, play games, and have fun, including: Performing essential barnyard chores like feeding, brushing, and mucking stalls, Planting, watering, and weeding vegetables and herbs in the Learning Garden – and creating yummy treats, Experience the work of the farm up close, and assist farmers with projects and tasks, Hiking adventures throughout our expansive forests and fields, Exploring the woodlands and wetlands and discovering wildlife, Farm-themed arts & crafts and science experiments.

 Lighthouse Writers Workshop |
Lighthouse offers a wide array of full and half-day summer camps from June through August for young writers ages eight to 18. Whether they've got a few novels under their belt, are new but curious about poems, or are a reluctant writer, our camps offer a fun, creative, and challenging way for young people to explore and express who they are, build new friendships, and create truly beautiful works of art.

In this live online course, we improve our print and cursive handwriting through reading and writing about people and events from American history as well as drawing them. Why drawing? Drawing develops some of the same muscle groups used for handwriting. It's also lots of fun! Recommended for ages 11-18. An ADULT SECTION is also available (meeting time is different. It will start at 9:30 AM PST and end at 10:30 AM PST).

The purpose of this live ONLINE course is to spark pre-teen/early teenage students' interest in reading classic books and to teach them to engage in Socratic discussion about themes, characters, plot, etc. We will also focus on history related to the stories. Our summer 2025 readings are selections from Homer’s The Iliad and The Odyssey. The cost is $150 for 22.5 hours of instruction June 16-Aug. 13, 2025.

The curriculum is guided by a seasoned staff of educators and outdoor enthusiasts using the full range of natural amenities found at Allandale Farm.
